Terms of Use
Last updated: August 31, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of the BorderCount apps and website. BorderCount is operated by KBF Holdings Inc. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use BorderCount.
What BorderCount is, and what it is not
BorderCount counts the days you spend in each country, state, and province, and shows you how those counts compare with day limits that may affect your taxes, health coverage, or immigration status.
BorderCount is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Canada Revenue Agency, any provincial or state authority, the European Union, or any other government agency.
Day counts and rule summaries are provided for your own record-keeping and are not legal, tax, or immigration advice. Rules change, edge cases exist, and the app can only count what it is told or detects. Always confirm your status with the official government sources cited in the app, or with a qualified professional, before making a decision that depends on it. You remain responsible for your own filings, declarations, and travel decisions.
Your account
You need an account to use BorderCount, and you must provide an email address you control. Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. You can delete your account, and all of the data attached to it, at any time from Settings inside the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Subscription, billing, and renewal
BorderCount is a subscription app. A subscription is required to use it, and a 30-day free trial is included with a new subscription.
- BorderCount Monthly — $3.99 per month
- BorderCount Annual — $29.99 per year
Prices are shown in your local currency at the point of purchase and may vary by country. The price you see in the app or store listing at the time of purchase is the price that applies.
Subscriptions are sold and billed through the app store you bought them from — the Apple App Store or Google Play — not by us directly. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically for another period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and renewal is charged within 24 hours of the end of that period. If you begin a free trial and then purchase a subscription, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited.
Cancelling, and refunds
You can cancel auto-renewal at any time in your Apple Account settings or in Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until that period ends.
Because Apple and Google process the payment, refunds are handled under their policies, not ours. Request a refund through Apple or Google. If something has gone wrong, email us at support@bordercount.com and we will help where we can.
Location data
Automatic border detection is optional. When you turn it on, BorderCount collects location in the background so it can tell when you cross a border. What is collected, how it is used, and how to turn it off are described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Acceptable use
Please do not misuse BorderCount: no reverse engineering, no attempts to break or overload the service, no accessing other people's accounts or data, no scraping, and no reselling access. We may suspend or close an account that does these things, or that is used unlawfully.
Availability and changes
We work to keep BorderCount available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Automatic detection depends on your device, its operating system, its permissions, and network conditions, any of which can prevent a crossing from being recorded. Keeping your own records is a sensible precaution.
We may add, change, or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use BorderCount after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Disclaimers and limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BorderCount is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, including any warranty that its day counts or rule summaries are accurate or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, KBF Holdings Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, and our total liability arising out of your use of BorderCount is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
